Sowing and Harvesting: Soybeans are cultivated on 3,500 hectares using mechanized methods. Sowing begins on September 15th of each year and continues until October 15th, with a 120-day cycle. Harvesting begins on January 15th of the following year and continues until February 15th. Immediately afterward, corn is planted, and the soil is prepared for this summer crop. 80% of the seeds are of the transgenic variety, and 20% are of the conventional variety. Harvesting begins on May 15th and continues until then. Afterward, there is a short period of time to choose between winter or short-season corn, or wheat. Subsequently, the land is left to rest, covered with oats or barley, with this rest period lasting from August 1st to September 15th.
Productivity:
- In soybeans, the average yield of the plots is 4,089 kilos per hectare with regular rainfall. The most efficient plots can reach 5,000 kilos and the least efficient 3,500 kilos per hectare. In times of irregular rainfall or drought, the productivity of the entire farm is 3,500 kilos per hectare.
- In corn, the average yield of the plots is 8,000 kilos per hectare with regular rainfall. During periods of irregular rainfall or drought, the productivity of the entire farm is 7,300 kilograms per hectare.
Hydrology: The aforementioned property has natural irrigation from streams, springs, and reservoirs, thus guaranteeing a constant and stable water supply throughout the year, with average annual rainfall ranging from 2,200 mm to 3,200 mm.
